In fact, more than 53% of Americans believe that increasing AI skills will help keep them “AI-proof,” and at least 70% of workers believe their current jobs will survive within five years even with continued technological advances. Different generations of workers may have different job expectations, but AI is becoming a key tool to help organizations meaningfully support employee goals. More than half of employees use AI every day for a variety of tasks, including achieving career goals. For Gen Z and millennials, AI is not only a workplace tool, but also a way to find money, meaning and prosperity in their lives to find happiness. Generation Z is likely to prioritize achieving financial independence, becoming an expert in their field, and doing meaningful work that impacts public issues. Millennials are more focused on achieving a good work-life balance, achieving job security and stability, and continuously developing their skills through learning opportunities. AI supports each of these goals by making work simpler and thus providing more opportunities for growth.

Despite the constant changes in the work landscape thanks to new technological advances, one in two workers choose to stay in their current role even if they feel unsatisfied, largely due to economic uncertainty, a phenomenon known as job dissatisfaction. However, this can lead to high turnover of top performers looking for challenge and growth. This can cost companies millions in lost productivity, wasted time and money, new employee mistakes, and lost domain knowledge.
