Amazon New Fire TV Stick HD

Amazon Fire TV Stick HD, the latest version of the world’s most popular streaming player, will be available to customers on April 29.

The redesigned Fire TV Stick HD is nearly 30% narrower than previous versions, making it easier to travel with and fit behind TVs. The new streaming player also no longer needs a wall adapter; now draws power directly from the TV’s USB port.

Alexa+Amazon’s AI assistant will also be included in the new Fire TV Stick for customers in the US, Canada and the UK. While in Japan, customers will receive an exclusive anime hub that shows them available anime movies and TV shows.

This new streaming player will also include Amazon’s in-house operating system, Vega. In fact, Amazon has confirmed that all future Fire TV Sticks will use Vega OS, taking a break from the Android operating system.

Vega OS will block sideloading (the tech term for installing apps that aren’t from the app store). Although many users use this feature for legitimate purposes, preventing unauthorized applications should help improve the security and functionality of the streaming player.

It’s priced very attractively at $34.99 for a new streaming player. Amazon’s new Fire TV Stick HD is available for pre-order today.
